About Our Trainer: Short And To The Point
Chris Goegan attended the University of Mount Union with a major in developmental psychology while working at Sea World in Aurora, Ohio. Training killer whales, sea lions, walruses, dolphins and river otters helped Chris developed his style and first love of dog training. As the number of dogs and clients grew Chris chose to leave Sea World after 11 years and devote himself fully to dog training and has never looked back. Repeatedly attaining the highest achievement titles possible in the field trial world, Chris is a veteran dog trainer with a well established clientele.
"At Sea World, we basically applied child psychology, or developmental psychology, to animals to modify their behavior. We used behavior modification based upon positive reinforcement. The key to training involves placement and timing of reinforcements. In dogs, it is like taking a snapshot of desired behavior and applying reinforcement at the exact moment." -Chris Goegan
